5 Fun Things to Do in Denver

If you’re looking for COVID-safe activities in Denver, there are tons of fun events and things to do while still maintaining physical distance. So mask up, bring your family, and check out some of these great activities around town.

Rocky Mountain Arsenal

Looking to spot some wildlife? Rocky Mountain Arsenal is a short drive from Denver and boasts 1,500-acres of wildlife habitat. Maybe you’re wondering why a wildlife refuge has “Arsenal” in its name - the area has a unique backstory. After the area served as an arsenal that supported World War II efforts, Shell Chemical Co. leased the land for agricultural chemical production. Starting in the 1980s, the Army and Shell began an in-depth environmental cleanup effort. The cleanup was completed in 2010 and the site became one of the largest urban refuge spaces in the country.

Hop in the car, bring your camera, and see if you can spot bison, deer, bald eagles, and more! You can drive through the park and take photos, or you can take one of the walking trails located throughout.

Drive-In Theater Near Denver

Drive-in theaters are back! The 88 Drive In theater near Commerce City has served the Denver community since 1972, delighting movie-goers with great films and even better snacks! Drive up, park, relax, and enjoy a movie. With many theaters still closed, drive-ins are a safe and fun way to take the family out to the movies. Fido can come too - the theater welcomes dogs (just make sure to put them on a leash if they’re outside the car)! Have a fabulous night on the town and support a local business too.
